Wine Production

Its main activity, besides tourism, is the wine production. There are seven wineries that work in this area; the following stand out: Etchart, La Banda and La Rosa (Michel Torino). The torrontes wine of Cafayate is considered unique in the world for it's special carateristics; the place, climate, soil, altitude, humidity and form of manufacturing. Winner of various mgold and silver medals in international competitions, the bodegas produces also other types: cabernet, chardonay, malbec.
